AI: Authentically Interested

“Curiosity didn’t kill the cat…

It created a Panther.”- Odelle

Part 1

When meeting someone we generally ask: What is your name, what do you do? Where are you from?

Hopefully we eventually ask curious questions like: Why did you do that, What motivated you, what was your Context? Did it matter? How did you get here?

Often we stop at: “what is your name” and “what do you do”…and assume the rest.

Simon Sinek, in his TEDx Talk, Start with Why, explains, we assume we know why we do what we do. But don’t understand when things don’t go the way we assumed they would. Why?

Were we Authentically Interested or Assumption Investors?

Peter Diamandis, Greek American engineer, physician, and entrepreneur, founder and chairman of the X Prize Foundation, cofounder and executive chairman of Singularity University and co-author of The New York Times bestsellers Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think and BOLD: How to Go Big, Create Wealth, and Impact the World,  points out about his children:

He wants them to ask great questions. He says it is ultimately the quality of questions we ask in life.

The evolution of anyone and anything is fascinating.

This is possible when we don’t just assume or accept what we are told and shown, but dig, explore, become Archaeologists and Anthropologists… Ask great questions. Quality Questions. We Evolve.

It is becoming more and more evident that a lot of “learning”, understanding and belief creation, whether consciously or sub- consciously, about ourselves, others and our world, are done through Artificial Intelligence (For example Deep Learning and Machine Learning.̽)

In my opinion, mostly unconsciously: Facebook, Instagram, Google to name a few, we use, abuse and escape into.

Abundant Information Overload.

But do we know where this information was born? This Artificial Intelligence? Who were its parents, what was its context and what is its purpose in our lives?

We expose ourselves daily to it. It has the power to raise and shape us…definitely influence us.

Does it influence our beliefs and values? Our ability to learn and behave intentionally according to our own truth? What material are we filling our minds and hearts with? How are we learning and leading if we just take what is accepted by the masses without asking the Quality questions about origin, founders and creators of this so- called Intelligence we are consuming and believe to be true?

So let’s go there. The where, the how and the what. And most importantly the WHY.

But first, let’s explore what Simon says… in PART 2.

And you might be asking:

Stop. Now.

Good Question.

P.S Challenge 1: Spot the different uses of the word AI in the post.

Did you see and recognise any patterns?

Did this spark anything…recognising alternative uses? Can you come up with some of your own…AIs and meaning…?

Happy spotting.
